2016-2017 ICB URP Recruitting Member Students-Deadline extended to 29th Sep.!
As per the feedback of some students, the notice of recruitment on ICB website has not been well received by many students. Therefore, the deadline of 2016-2017 URP membership application is extened to 11:30am 29th Sep.
ICB URP (Undergraduate Research Program) has been running for 10 years. The member students of ICB URP have gained great benefits in accumulating academic research experiences for either post-graduate school application or future career. After the URP Research Projects have been approved by the URP Management Team of ICB, the ICB Application Guide for School Year 2016-2017has been finalized for students as follows:

I Candidate Qualifications
In the Fall semester 2016, UCD and OSU Program Year Two and Year Three students(exclusive of those who have completed URP before), and UK Program Year Two Students can apply for URP membership of their own accord.
GPA requirements: minimum 3.0 (UCD, OSU) or 12 (UK)
Language requirements: minimum TOEFL 71 or IELTS 6.0
Candidates who meet the above requirements will be selected against the ranking of GPA until all positions are filled.
II Policies and Disciplines
a. URP grades will be recorded on theICB CAU transcriptunder the course title of “Practice for Research Methods” (4 credits) at the end of 2017 spring semester. The grades include three parts: midterm presentation and final presentation (30%), final report (30%) and attendance to lectures and supervising (40%). Those who achieve grade B or above can pass the examination and will be awarded the ICB URP certificate.
b. URP member students canwithdrawfrom this program with the consent of the supervisor and the ICB URP Management Teamwithin 2 monthsafter the kick-off meeting, beyond which the withdrawal cannot be accepted and unsatisfactory performance will be marked 0 credits.
c. Attendancewill be taken for each lecture and supervising session. Those who are absent for two sessions without approval by the supervisor (for the supervising sessions) or the URP Management Team Secretary (for the lecture sessions) will be expelled from URP team and new member will be admitted to fill the position.
d. At the end of the school year, all URP member students are required to publish their research paper, either in group or individually, on the ICB URP Proceedings. In addition, a group research report is compulsory as well.
III Application Procedure
Please download and fill out the application form as attached and send theapplication formand thescan copy of IELTS or TOEFL reportvia email to Ms. Yan Qi, the secretary of ICB URP Management Team, at icb7@cau.edu.cn by 11:30am 29 Sept. Valid application will be briefly replied to via email. Please check with Ms. Qi at 62737145 if no reply. Late applicants or those with missing documents will not be short-listed.
After the qualification verification, the selection results will be publicized on ICB website by 4pm 29 Sept. All students accepted are required to attend the Kick-off Meeting at 6:30pm on 29 Sept in the Bedfordshire Reporting Hall of ICB office building.
